  • supplement classroom supplies for teachers
  • purchase classroom subscriptions to enrich the curriculum 
  • host author visits and other cultural experiences
  • host community building events such as Hawk Walk, and Carnival
  • show appreciation to our staff with holiday gifts,etc.

This list is to provide you with a general understanding of why we are asking for money this year. 

 

  • Hawk Walk - Our kickoff fundraiser for the year allows us to build a base budget to plan the remaining annual events. Our goal this year is $20,000.
  • Chili Cook-Off - Community event where Hawk families showcase their best chili recipes. All proceeds benefit our PTO general fund, helping us support programs and events throughout the year.
  • Book Fairs - 50% of our sales goes back to classrooms libraries and the school media center to update books and literacy resources
  • Spirit Wear - 20% of sales comes back to our school’s general fund and is an opportunity to share some school spirit
  • Carnival - An OV tradition that brings our school and local community members together for a day of fun. We raise funds to pay food vendors, rent inflatables/games and supply ticket prizes. 
  • FHPS Foundation Luncheon - An annual luncheon put on by the foundation that recaps how district contributions have helped our schools and asks for contributions for the upcoming year. 

 

 

How it's done...

Teachers, families and local businesses work together to accomplish these goals by:

  • Buying Spirit Gear
  • Donating online
  • Eating out on Spirit Nights (Restaurant nights)
  • Contributing to Fundraising Events (Hawk Walk, Chili cook-off, Carnival)

 
How to help...

  • Volunteer by helping with an event, chairing a committee, or become a PTO board member. Check out our volunteer opportunities here.
  • Donate to help fund PTO programs and events. You can make a donation here.
  • Sign up and collect for Box Tops for Education 
  • Recycle your cans through Sipzee and donate the receipts.

  • Donations to offset our costs:

    - Teacher Appreciation gifts or contribution to fund

    • Donated space rentals for school events such as Share the Love Fundraiser
    • Classroom supply donations
    • Spirit Wear Purchases
    • Book Fair Purchases
